Face Hunted

I was snapped by the Facehunter, Yvan Rodic, along the Bondi-Bronte walk yesterday. It was perfect weather to float along in my giant orange culotte skirt. Its one of my favourite pieces for summer, brilliant that its the right length for me. I love to be totally covered, the sun is murder down under.
Sorry for the hiatus! I was just busy doing other things, thanks for your patience. :)

Golden Girls

Apologies for the inconsistent posting, been distracted by life and other things.

Grandmother Who

Another good find from the Op shops of Esperance these jumbo wide leg trousers. My Mum took them down for me, I imagine the previous owner was someone's Grandmother. The best thing about used clothing is you can imagine the story the previous owner might have had for the piece.
The shirt I adore, its from AA. I've been chasing cheques since the latest glorious Christopher Kane collection and this ever-so-sheer tee fits my ideal perfectly. Thankyou American Apparel!
Evan helped me shoot these yesterday but the light was extremely frustrating, here for one shot, gone the next. I loved the extra glow the sun peeking out of the clouds gave my pics.

Drama Drama

These heels are some of my favourites at the moment, I've had them for a good while but for most of that while they've been on a container ship... or sitting in some port. Waiting for me. So great to have them back on my feet.
This blazer is so light its perfect for summer.

I made the mistake of editing one of these pictures and then doing something else and coming back to the second and I couldn't get an exact match. I know a few of you have been asking how I get these effects and I've got to admit, I'm a little hesitant to divulge my secret. I will say, to get the purple effect, I just increase the magenta in the black point. I really love Camilla Akrans work and she uses this technique in a lot of her shots, its quite trendy at the moment.

Freundin Mag

A few pages from an editorial I shot in London - everyone loves a smile! This was a really fun shoot, we ran around to different landmarks to capture a day of a couple on a date sightseeing. The toughest shot to get was the one in the cab, it was a sweltering hot day and I was sweating like crazy in thigh high leather boots, dashing from the office to the street to hail down a black cab for the specific purpose of posing inside. The team were all totally relaxed and friendly and the styling was all classic designer pieces. Since so many of the shots were taken at major tourist destinations so there was no shortage of onlookers which is slightly confronting but I try my best to play the pro. I hate to think I would be wasting anyones time by appearing sheepish in all the shots! It would have been far more difficult if I had to be serious and sultry.

The Lover

in·am·o·ra·ta (n-m-rät)
n. pl. in·am·o·ra·tas
A woman with whom one is in love or has an intimate relationship.
[Italian innamorata, feminine of innamorato, inamorato; see inamorato.]

I recieved this sterling silver necklace courtesy of the generous people at MyNameNecklace, who are also responsible for the famous Carrie necklace from SATC. I did consider having my own name but I definitely write a blog under that title (!) and I'm getting pretty tired of those same six letters.... I wish I could have come up with something really uber for my blog but everything I thought of sounded ridiculous...
Inamorata is a beautiful word with a beautiful meaning which I felt appropriate to hang above my heart - a direct reference to my boyfriend.
I have to ask, what would you all get if you decided to get hold of one of these beautiful silver necklaces? They make brilliant gifts, I have one for my Mum with my grandmothers name on it, Daisy. So sweet.

Sorry I ruined your surprise Mum! It's coming in the post with those DVDS I have for Dad. XOXO

Penned Out

You can imagine how I beamed when I opened up my inbox to discover this illustration by Aura Lyndon at Auracouture. Its such a high form of flattery to have someone of talent illustrate you - this is the third time since I began blogging that I've been lucky enough to be portrayed in this way.
Check out Aura's blog, she's also featured a great illustration of Gala.

This slubby jumper is the only thing I purchased from the Fashion Weekend. There's so much to find at these kind of events but you really have to wade through the dregs to find it. I found some delicious candles (you can never have too many candles!) and this super comfy oversized number which I picked up at the Tristan Blair stand where I proceeded to swoon for about 20 minutes before I collected my resolve and reminded myself of a pending overseas trip which, being in Australia, is going to cost me an arm and a leg. The epic shoes will come my way eventually... I love you Tristan Blair.

So my outfit, definitely roughing it. So cosy I can't help but smile.

Self Portrait 7

Another beauty headshot, going for a beachy look here, got my hair and face all greased up to create that fabulous wet look.
I'm so proud, my Australian agency decided to use a couple of my shots for my card and folio. Can't wait to start shooting other girls - and guys! Soon soon....

Them Apples

I'm well aware that I've worn this mustard oversize trench about 3 or 4 times on my blog but its just that its one of my favourite things to wear, it cost virtually nothing and in the name of being true to life as in blog I've got to feature it AGAIN. Do any of you style bloggers out there find it difficult to continually keep your blog updated with new pieces all the time? I find it such a drain to always create an original look... one day you'll all tune in to find 3 weeks of pictures - zanita, tee shirt, jeans.
I love fashion passionately, so I guess thats why I'm sporadically drained of inspiration, there's only so much you can give and I'm surrounded by fashion all the time.
The dress with the apples is very special to me, my Mum made it. Its the most cheerful thing I have in my wardrobe.
Love you Mum!!!

What could be more flattering than having a talented artist do an illustration of you? Thanks so much to my Finnish friend Maria at Mon Modèle for exercising her artsy muscles to create this work of me, I love it so much, much more ethereal than the original.
