Nothing like black and white photographs. I've been practising taking headshots, I know it seems strange how my eyes are closed in this shot, I had some with my eyes open - I decided it has a better mood this way.
I have to agree! I love the serenity of this shot, having the eyes closed. Did you take this? It's marvelous if so! What's your secret to taking great shots?
Did you shoot this in Black & White or did you make it that way on a computer?
Aye, Black & White's truly capture some of the most beautiful lighting (and subjects! ;) ) I know I keep harping on lighting, but you manage to find some of the best contrasts. Not to mention that, but the angles as well. As any good model, you really know how to highlight your face well.
As far as the eyes go, I think they look fine for the most part. Though the left one (er....you're right) looks a bit more closed than the right (your left). But it's interesting - gives a rather dreamy quality. Can't wait to see more!
Lady Nerd - i converted this to black and white after shooting, i originally had it in colour and i didnt think it was so effective. I appreciate you comments on contrasts, the only lighting I have to make use of is natural lighting, which means its varied constantly. I took these shots around 6pm so the light was low and more direct on my face.
Everyone else, I can't possibly convey how much these comments mean to me, who could ask for better support or encouragement? I would normally quit a new hobby by now, i find it easy to lose interest in a new idea. Its courtesy of everyone who reads and comments on my blog that i constantly push myself to improve.
