Self Portrait 5

This image could be so much cooler if I could manage my own hair. I usually don't style it beyond a smudge of serum because it gets so brutalised at different jobs. I swear I've had clumps of hair fall out after some crazy up-dos. It's so depressing to see it all run down the plug hole.
I changed the colour of the sky from its vivid blue to purple using the selective colour tool on photoshop. I also think this shot could be improved if my elbow wasn't pointing down the lense of the camera, if it was stuck out to the side a little more the silhouette would be much more interesting. My chin could be slightly lower too, makes for a more flattering light and line on the face and neck but the eyes need to stay catching light for maximum dramatic effect.

I really like it! The light is lovely on your face, and your expression is really interesting, you don't have the blank stare of many other models (which is a very good thing)

This pic is already very nice, so much more natural that if you could have done everything you wish on it! Don't change it, the originality is what makes the difference, and u got it on it!

Cheers,

I know you're always your biggest critic but the picture is beautiful already- I love how you changed the colour of the sky, it is such a nice contrast to your softer colours!

it's good to see you're feeling better again!

I like it! the purple sky has a quite magic effect and combines with the mood of the picture. you are actually very natural in it, sometimes a natural imperfect picture is much better than the ones you plan carefully

Wow Zanita,
You really know the technicals to get a good image. Perhaps you should consider a career as a fashion photographer further down the track...
Food for thought.
Thanks for your insights into the modelling industry - I really appreciate the behind the scenes snaps.

Thanks everyone for being so encouraging, i do know that I have quite a critical eye and hopefully its the thing that helps me continue to improve my photography. I'm lucky that in my line of work i can gain accidently experience for.

I just used natural sunlight! Its pretty problematic because its so harsh and looks best when i look directly into the light.

I love the pic especially with the purple background. I agree with you on the elbow thing - if it was pulled out more you'd get a better silhouette. Other than that, all your pics are gorgeous :)

This is by far my favourite photo of you. The lines are just exquisite! Suprisingly, my favourite feature is the black line silhouetted against the gradient background. Not only does it make you pop but it adds a thick outline to you as the foreground subject.

Love, love, love it!

I think your picture is beautiful, but I suppose working in the industry you know what to look for. But I am definitely in awe of you.
